Introduction to Ancient Singing Bowls

Explore the history of the ancient healing art of Ancient singing bowls in this introductory workshop and learn to listen and play them in an artful manner.

You will get to feel the deep and calming vibrations and understand the therapeutic effects of sound healing through your own experience. 

What's included in this workshop?

  • How to use the rimming stick and gong stick correctly

  • How to listen to the bowls

  • How to maintain the bowl

  • How to select the best bowl for yourself

This workshop is for you, if:

  • You would like to learn how to use ancient healing tools such as Tibetan Singing Bowls correctly and maximise its usage; OR

  • You would like to enhance your ability to discern the harmonics created by Tibetan Singing Bowls. This helps you to select the perfect bowl for yourself; OR

  • You would like to learn how best to maintain such healing tools if you own one

Session 2: 15:00 – 17:00
Self Healing with Singing Bowl Workshop

This gives a really good foundation in sound therapy and Tibetan singing bowls. Learn the ancient art of how to use this sacred healing tool correctly and receive basic knowledge in self-healing, including how to use it in your meditation practice by using just one bowl.

*About Amanda Ling, Shima Healing

Amanda Ling is a gifted musician and DJ who specialises in producing sounds for healing. She is also a music educator and a Consultant-in-Training in tidying in the KonMari Method™. Additionally, Amanda is an Ancient Singing Bowl practitioner and an apprentice at Shima Healing.

SHIMA means ‘Island’ in Japanese, ‘Love’ in Sanskrit and ‘Mother’ in Navajo, Native American. The Shima Healing Institute is a global training centre of traditional healing arts on the beautiful and enchanting island of Koh Yao Noi, southern Thailand. The instruction at Shima Healing is focused on imparting unadulterated ancient practices, and empowering students to cultivate and embody the true essence of healing. The modalities taught at Shima Healing include Tibetan Singing Bowl Therapy, Reiki, Flow in Stillness.
